Our Mission

Arabian Maus are the native domestic cats of the Arabian Peninsula. They are beautiful creatures with short fur, long legs, large ears and big personalities. Scientific research on these cats has indicated that their ancestry dates back 10,000 years, to the earliest farming settlements in Arabia.

Within the last few decades the Arabian Mau has come under existential threat in its homeland due to the rapid urbanisation of the environment, climate change and the never ending abandonment of imported breeds of pet cats. Mixed breed cats are now the most common sight on the streets of Arabia, and they are less well equipped to deal with the harsh climate.

Arabian Mau Rescue Ltd. was set up in July 2024 in the hope of saving this ancient and natural breed of cat. We aim to relocate Arabian Maus to the UK where they can be re-homed. We have created a range of clothing and accessories with our Arabian Mau Rescue logo to help fund this project.
